TECHNOLOGY TSPS purchased a one year subscription to GoToMeeting.Com, an online meeting software. The software has been used for 12 meetings so far and has yielded more production and less expense for at least three sub-committees. This software allows committees to meet without traveling to a central location thereby saving TSPS meeting room rentals, members also save on fuel costs and hotel accommodations. Although this tool has not had widespread use yet, it appears to be a significant step forward into using technology to increase committee production and reduce costs to TSPS and volunteer members.
This committee has not met physically this quarter but has met through GoToMeeting (GTM).
President-Elect Michael Parker has schedule a “GoToMeeting” tutorial for Startaegic Planning in San Antonio for Friday August 22, 2008. Anyone with a wireless configured laptop at the meeting will be able to join in and see how to:
1. Plan a meeting 3. Conduct a meeting 4. Allow other attendees to take control of the meeting 5. Record a meeting.
A Tecnology Committee “Go To Meeting” will be scheduled to consider technology upgrade budget items for TSPS for fiscal year 2008-2009 prior to October 2008.
