Annually, TSPS produces a two day, multi-track, affordable and accessible educational event designed to provide continuing adult education and credit hours approved by the Texas Board of Professional Land Surveyors to the community of professional surveyors as well as other professionals. In addition, this event provides opportunities for individuals interested in learning and acquiring the professional skills and business knowledge of surveying from the most basic through to more advanced courses designed to prepare applicants to sit for the Texas Board of Professional Land Surveyors exams and/or keep those registered surveyors in the state of Texas informed, up-to-date and savvy in all the latest equipment, methods, business trends and regulations.
Prior to 2003, and in addition to the Annual Convention and Technology Exposition, TSPS held an average of 15 educational seminars per year in varying parts of Texas. Since that time and instead of the 15 individual seminars, TSPS offers a symposium format once a year and only 2 smaller one day seminars at other times in different cities. The Symposium course schedule is composed of both professional and paraprofessional courses, and offers both TSPS Brand Courses and non-TSPS Brand Courses.
TSPS has expanded the program since its beginning in 2003, and has seen it grow. The goal is to move about the state rotating areas to maximize the opportunities for quality education and required continuing education credits for our membership. At our last outing in Lubbock for TSPS 2014 Symposium, we registered 191 attendees/205 people total. Other years recorded the following:
