(By Caylor Ballinger - Odessa American) Odessa College sheds light on its surveying programming this week in participation with National Surveyor's Week.
Odessa College students, faculty and visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the History of Surveying in Texas on Thursday, March 22.
Sprint has returned $65 million in prepayments to LightSquared as part of its decision to terminate its spectrum hosting agreement with LightSquared, according a report in Business Wire.
The original report containted contingencies for Sprint to nullify the agreement if certain conditions were not met by LightSquared.

Max A. Schumann, Jr., RPLS #137, 89, of Midland, died Saturday, March 17, 2012 with his family by his side. Mr. Schumann was a longtime member of TSPS and local Permian Basin Chapter 10.
The Mayor and City Council of Denton, Texas has declared March 18-24 as "Surveyors' Week" in the city, in conjunction with the National and Texas Surveyors' Week.

Last we year we encouraged the chapters to participate in the NSPS Surveying USA event that kicked off National Surveyors' Week, and many of the Chapters participated with different events and venues.
It was a lot of fun and Texas tied for the most GPS points shot that day.
League City was the center of the Texas surveying world last week as TSPS brought its annual Symposium education event and its first Quarterly Board Meeting to the South Shore Harbour Resort.
Some of the highlights from the two-days of TSPS happenings included:
A proclamation was signed Feb. 21 by Texas Gov. Rick Perry designating March 18-24, 2012 as Texas Surveyors Week.
The annual proclamation is made to coincide with National Surveyors's Week, as announced by the National Society of Professional Surveyors.
The Texas proclamation is made to "urge all Texans to recognize the dedicated service of these outstanding professionals and the importance of their work."
